Biography
Polish bass Jasin Rammal-Rykała graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin Music University in Warsaw with Professor Izabella Kłosińska.From 2017 to 2021 he was a participant in the Young Talents Program of the Opera Academy at the Polish National Opera in Warsaw, where he worked with Eytan Pessen, Matthias Rexroth and Olga Pasichnyk.
The artist made his debut at the Warsaw Chamber Opera (WOK) singing in productions of Mozart's Don Giovanni (Masetto) and The Marriage of Figaro (Bartolo), Kurt Weill's The Seven Deadly Sins (Mother) and Smetana's The Bartered Bride (Kecal).
In August 2018 he sang the roles of Alfesibeo and Panto in Gli amori d'Apollo e di Dafne by Francesco Cavalli at the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music. In the same year he was engaged at the Polish National Opera in Warsaw with the roles of Count Ceprano/Rigoletto, Angelotti/Tosca, Second Officer/Billy Budd, bagpiper in Moniuszko's Halka and Johann in the premiere of Massenet's Werther.
Jasin Rammal-Rykała has been taking part in the OperAvenir program at Theater Basel since the 2021/2022 season, where he has sung as Sparafucile/ Rigoletto, Samiel and Eremit/ Der Freischütz, Zweiter Soldier/ Salome, Basilio/ Il barbiere di Siviglia, Pilatus u. Pontifex I. in St. Matthew Passion, Servant/The Nose and Second Armored Man/The Magic Flute.
In the 2023/2024 season, he was also very successful in the roles of the 3rd Soldier/ Littore/ Famigliare 2 in a new production of Monteverdis L'incoronazione di Poppea, directed by Christoph Marthaler and conducted by Laurence Cummings, as well as Zuniga in Carmen and Lothario in Ambroise Thomas' Mignon. He will also be a guest at the closing gala of the 33rd Mozart Festival in Warsaw in summer 2024.
Jasin Rammal-Rykała won the first prize and the prize for best male voice at the Halina Słonicka International Vocal Art Competition in Poland, as well as numerous awards at many other competitions.
